After multiple delays (years) the park construction has started.
Sketches and details are on Lets Talk Grimsby https://www.letstalkgrimsby.ca/casablanca-waterfront-project
The park design team have heard (ignored) our concerns about inadequate Parking, as Parking is outside of the scope of the Park project. The Town has finally heard the GOTL parking concerns (including for the park) and after more than a year, have hired a consultant (it was that, or make a decision). See a discussion of potential parking solutions elsewhere in the discussion forum under Community Benefits
The map below is the area adjacent to NNCECC270 (Phase 1). Much of the work (e.g. playground) was removed (postponed) to bring the project back on budget. There are two additional phases to the east, plus the Fifth Wheel lands, a future Phase 4.
There was a promise of an Open House to showcase the project. It has not occurred (as of Nov 2023)..
If you have concerns, contact your Ward 4 councilors or staff for an update as to what is going on:

Sarah Sweeney , Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, Town of Grimsby ssweeney@grimsby.ca
I have been assured that construction will start at the east end of the park by Mid-July 2023. The town is committed to communicating with adjacent condos (e.g. ours) on the status of the park in the (distant?) future.
Janet & I met with Sarah Sweeney the Director of Parks on Jan 12, 2023 to review the latest draft of the waterfront park plans, specifically Phase 1 (see image above).
The original plan was put out for tender and came back way over budget. As a result, they had to cut back the plan. In general, the new plan looks good.
Minor changes have been made to Phases 2 & 3. Phase 1 has been significantly reduced, including removing the large play-area by Hunter & Place Polonaise. The intent is to re-look at adding features (e.g. the play area) in the future when there is budget.
We are also exploring an open house in the spring to allow residents (NNCECC270 & NNSCC289) feedback on the Park Design. NNSCC283 has formally declined to participate in the Open House. The new plans will be posted on Let's Talk Grimsby when they are finalized.
