There is a study going on regarding parking in GOTL (see elsewhere in this Discussion forum).
Most of the Public (Town) Road Parking (on Place Polonaise, Hunter and Winston) around NNCECC270 & NNSCC289 has a posted 3 hour limit.
NNCECC270 and NNSCC289 Visitor Parking within our Condo Lanes is limited to those with a Blue Visitor Parking Permit (3 day nominal visitor maximum, residents can use visitor parking occasionally). A limited number of Paid (Green) Parking Permits are also available (see elsewhere in this Discussion Forum).
NNSCC283 (Lakehouse 1 & 2 at 10 & 40 Esplande) has a small exclusive Visitor Parking area on their property (north of Esplanade).
There are 50 free roadside parking spots on the south side of Winston Road between Hunter and Oakes Road which have no posted limit. Street Parking in Grimsby has a 16 hours limit where not posted (call Grimsby to confirm).
Several NNSCC289 business owners have suggested they should have extended access (8 hours a day, for 5 days a week) to NNCECC270 Visitor parking for their employees, pointing out that, "I can't ask my staff to walk a couple of hundred meters down Winston to get to work".
The NNSCC289 also has exclusive Visitor Parking (NNCECC270 residents not allowed) on the south side of Esplanade that is not as aggressively enforced.
If you park in the 16 hour parking limit zone west on Winston, it is less than 1 km from Oakes Road, and as little as 100 metres if you get a spot near Hunter Road. See maps below.
I’ve had to walk at least a kilometre (15-20min) to my office from the parking lot that was available to me at work. In the city, you are never guaranteed parking close to your place of work or business. Not sure I understand the issue I guess. Unless someone requires an accommodation, it’s completely reasonable to have employees walk to/from available parking. Isn’t the exercise good too 😃
